StarTribune Top Workplaces 2010

The Star Tribune and the Pennsylvania research firm WorkplaceDynamics set out to identify the Top 100 Workplaces in the Twin Cities. This survey is about companies whose employees have awarded high marks. Companies chose to take part in the survey process.

WorkplaceDynamics contacted 1,020 employers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. To qualify, companies had to have at least 50 employees and agree to allow employees to take a confidential survey. In all, 169 companies participated and 33,193 employees were surveyed.

Southeastern Wisconsin's Top 100 Workplaces

During the most turbulent economic stretch in generations, we set out to identify some of the companies and organizations in southeast Wisconsin that consider it an obligation, or at least smart business, to give their employees a fair shake and a fulfilling work experience.

To do this, we invited workers to nominate their employers, and we enlisted the help of workplace consulting firm WorkplaceDynamics to survey tens of thousands of workers in the region.

The result is a fascinating and diverse list of organizations, large and small, that are finding creative and exciting ways to engage and retain employees.

Central Indiana's Top Workplaces
April 18, 2010

More than 600 Central Indiana companies were invited to participate by Workplace Dynamics of Exton, Pa. Of those invited, 101 companies took part in the survey, with nearly 20,000 employees responding to a variety of statements. The statements probed different aspects of the workplace, from management, benefits and appreciation to ethics, training and work/life balance. The rankings of the participating companies were calculated based on the employees' responses.

Most of us spend more time at work than at home with our families or out with friends. Our jobs and the paths our careers take are central themes in our lives.

For years now, the Star Tribune has published special reports on the financial health and strategies of Minnesota's largest publicly traded and nonprofit companies. The Star Tribune 100 reports capture important elements of what makes this such a dynamic place to live and do business.

But they don't tell you much about what it's like to live inside those companies. Now, thanks to a partnership with WorkplaceDynamics, we're launching an additional report focused on highlighting the Twin Cities area's Top Workplaces.
